Fifth Summit Cross Destroyed in Bavarian Mountains
The 4-meter-high wooden summit cross on the Kotzen in the Karwendel mountians was vandalized during the weekend of November 5th. Police opened an investigation to determine if the series of incidents were committed by the same person.
A hiker informed the police in Bad Tölz that the summit cross, set in a metal foundation, had been cut with a saw above the metal intake.
As early as 2016, between July 31 and November 5, there were four cases of vandalized summit crosses in the area. Read about those cases here.
