The Director of a ground school in Croatia was heavily criticized for displaying a 1,2m high statue of Holy Mary in a hall of his school. He claims that 97% of the pupils are attending the religion classes, there are no Muslim children, he paid the statue himself, it is located at the end of a hall where religion classes take place. The political party of liberal democrats (HNS) strongly criticizes this act as they claim it infringes the principle of state secularity and the separation of state and church. However, the minister of school education still holds that the school director has not done anything that should be considered unlawful.
