Vandals Damage Protestant Baroque Church in Gersfeld

On January 5, vandals entered the Lutheran Baroque church in Gersfeld on 5 January and caused deliberate damage to the building.

The incident occurred in the Protestant Baroque church in Gersfeld on Monday, 5 January, between 10:00 and 18:00, while the building was open to the public. Unknown individuals entered and caused deliberate damage to the interior. 

Several candles were damaged, and coat hooks were forcibly removed from the walls, resulting in an estimated loss of around 250 euros.

The perpetrators had not been identified or apprehended at the time of the report, and local police requested information from anyone who may have witnessed the act, noting the church’s location on a busy marketplace.
