Serious episode of desecration
Unknown assailants broke into the Church of St Paul the Apostle in Borgo Nuovo during the night, ransacked the parish and stole the chalice and the pyx containing the consecrated hosts.
The place of worship was found completely ransacked. The police arrived at the site to investigate the matter.
The faithful and the inhabitants of the area were shocked. Father Antonio Garau said with absolute sadness: "This night they raped our parish, they stole and destroyed everything. We have nothing left".
