Anti-religious graffiti discovered at school premises in Vienna-Liesing

Country: Austria

Date of incident: March 31, 2026

Anti-religious and derogatory graffiti was discovered around the entrance of the St. Ursula schools in Vienna-Liesing, Austria. The inscriptions included slogans targeting religious belief and referencing Christian prayer. The case constitutes vandalism involving ideological messaging in a visible public setting.

As reorted in March, several instances of graffiti with anti-religious and provocative content were found in the area surrounding the main entrance of the St. Ursula schools in Vienna-Liesing. The markings were applied to building walls, signs, and nearby structures, making them clearly visible to students and passers-by.

The inscriptions included slogans such as “No God”, “Muschis – Our Father…” (using a vulgar German insult combined with a reference to the “Our Father” prayer), as well as other offensive or derogatory messages. A nearby Caritas clothing donation container was also defaced.
