University Assistant Professor Loses Job Due to Opposition to “Gay Marriage”

Country: Germany

Date of incident: February 7, 2013

A Cologne university professor lost his job because he had spoken for Christian values and against “gay” marriages in a TV appearance. The university claimed that such views were not to be tolerated.

Martin Lohmann lost his job at the Macromedia University for Media and Communication in Cologne, Germany, after a TV appearance in “Hart, aber fair” (“hard but fair”). There he spoke out in favor of Christian values and against “gay” marriages.
On the part of the university, they said that the university represented an image of humanity where different sexual orientations were tolerated. They did not allow however any kind of discrimination. Mr. Lohmann was very astonished at his expulsion, wondering how people, who claim tolerance, fail to exercise tolerance.
