Tabernacles in Churches Pouancé and Bouchamp-lès-Craon Robbed of Hosts

Country: France

Date of incident: March 23, 2014

At the end of March and the beginning of April, two churches were vandalised in France and the consecrated hosts were robbed from the tabernacle. One was the church in Pouancé and the other that in Bouchamp-lès-Craon.

Although the exact date of the robbery is unknown, what is known is that on the 23rd of March the sacristan of the church in Pouancé entered to find the door of the tabernacle stuck closed and had to call a locksmith. On opening the tabernacle, they discovered that it was empty. Despite this, the churches intend to keep their doors open.
