Attempted Arson in Chapel Saint-François of Rennes

Country: France

Date of incident: August 14, 2015

The chapel Saint-François of Rennes was the victim of an attempted arson during night between August 13 and 14th.

Chapel Saint-François, in which the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICKSP) celebrates the Mass, is regularly the target of attacks: even during the Mass, individuals often interrupt sacred rituals with blasphemous or insulting slogans and by threatening the priest. The community has had to create its own security personnel that stands in the back of the church, near the entrance, just in case. The priest has already lodged a few complaints. The arson attempt had been preceded by blasphemous graffiti on the chapel walls. Thanks to the firemen's rapid swift reaction, only the lower part on the main door was charred. There have been no arrests. Source: http://www.christianophobie.fr/breves/rennes-precisions-sur-lincendie-criminel-de-la-chapelle-saint-francois
