French Pastor Reported Murder of Christian Refugee at Camp Near Dunkirk

Country: France

Date of incident: January 18, 2016

In a series of emails to a French blog, Pastor Daniel O. described the beatings, stabbings, disappearance, and presumed murder of an Iranian Christian at the Grande-Synthe refugee camp.

The Pastor provided information to the blog Le Bon Combat by email about the systematic abuse of Iranian Christian refugees at the camp, at the hands of Muslim refugees.  He confirms: "Christians are mistreated on the site of Grande Synthe... A young Christian had a broken nose, another received two stab wounds, and another is missing after being abused ." [He was found dead after sending this email; he was murdered]  And:

"The situation of Christian refugees in Grande-Synthe is worrying and has become particularly critical. We had to take the decision last night to lodge a dozen of them in the premises of the church. Because they were manhandled from the night of Monday to Tuesday and
several have been stabbed ...  One of them was killed last week around the camp ... During past two weeks, several churches have drawn from their own funds to lodge them in a hotel; but this solution can not be extended, (almost €800 in less than a fifteen days."
