Christians Harassed by Muslim Security Staff at Berlin Office for Health and Social Affairs

Country: Germany

Date of incident: March 2, 2016

Muslim refugees at the regional office complained about having to sit in the waiting room with "impure Christians". Security staff responded by banning the Christians for six months.

Pastor Gottfried Martens of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Berlin-Stieglitz reported the following incident involving baptismal candidates from his church:

Two refugees, Christian converts, were waiting for services at the Regional Office with a Christian friend. A man in the waiting area offered an empty chair to the friend saying "You are Muslim, you may sit here." The friend responded "But I am not Muslim, I am a Christian." The Muslim refugees then complained to the Arabic-speaking security staff about having to wait with "impure Christians". Security staff then attacked the Christians with vicious insults about themselves and their faith, and banned them from the Regional Office for six months.  The Christians had previously waited for two months for services. Pastor Martens explained, "The Muslim Security has gradually made the waiting area an anti-Christian zone... Those in charge know about this and are silent." Source: kath.net
