Vandals Deface Church in Slovenia

Country: Slovenia

Date of incident: June 15, 2016

A Catholic church in Celje was defaced with satanic words and symbols, resulting in 3,000 euros in damage.

Graffiti of symbols such as pentagrams and upside-down crosses as well as profanities, including the words “b***h” and “whore”, the name Satan and the numeral 666 were found on the Catherdral of St. Daniel, on the bishop’s residence, on a historic column on which a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands, and on some tombstones.

The crime is being investigated by the police. They released a statement on Wednesday saying the damage was worth an estimate of 3,000 Euros. Parishioners are trying to repair the damage and are even considering performing an exorcism after the satanic vandalism.
