Poll indicates Intolerance Against Christians Living in Turkey

A large percentage of Turkish residents report that Christians are unwelcome in both the public and private sectors.

According to a European Union-sponsored survey which polled 1,108 people from across Turkey, 55% of the Turkish population would not want a Christian to be offered a position in the justice field or the security forces. With regard to the healthcare field, 44% of Turkish people reported that they would not want to be treated by Christian doctors or nurses. 35% of Turkish people responded that they would be against having Christians as neighbours.
