Desecration in Madrid Church

Country: Spain

Date of incident: September 6, 2017

Unknown perpetrators broke into the parish of the Virgin of Bethlehem in Alcalá de Henares during the night of 5th and 6th of September 2017. They looted the altarpiece of the high altar, including the tabernacle containing consecrated Hosts, the ciborium of a chapel and a small monstrance containing a consecrated Host. The attackers threw the consecrated Hosts on the floor. Police were called and a Mass of Reparation was scheduled.

The events took place while the parish of Alcala had been a week without power, and therefore, without an alarm. The Bishopric of Alcalá de Henares said they have no doubt that it was an act with satanic motivation, because if it were merely a robbery the perpetrators would not have left things of value in the parish.  Source: Hispanidad
