Oil Poured Down Church Steps
On April 7th unidentified vandals poured frying oil down the grand stone steps in front of the church of San Giovanni Evangelista in Modica.
In addition, a stone bench in a community garden nearby was also damaged. City councilor Pietro Lorefice, who went to the site after the reports, said "They have defaced a historic and sacred place such as the Church of San Giovanni and an area that in recent years we have recovered and delivered to the community as a vegetable garden."
