Vandals Destroy Crossroads Crucifix

Country: Germany

Date of incident: April 15, 2018

For the fourth time in the last four years, someone destroyed the crucifix at the Kuckhof crossroads in Allerheiligen. In the most recent incident, the cross was demolished from its base and there was no trace of the figure of Jesus.

In May of 2017, the figure of Jesus was torn and stolen from the monument. The thieves only left a piece of the right arm. In June 2016, the vandals brought an ax, beat and pinned the arms, legs and part of the head, causing serious damage to the figure. In 2014, both arms were torn from the image that marks the crossroad.

On all these occasions, the St.-Peter-Schützenbruderschaft was in charge of replacing, restoring or completely changing the image of Jesus.
