Two Telephone Bomb Threats against Vienna Cathedral in a Week

St. Stephen's Cathedral had to be evacuated twice in one week after anonymous telephone bomb threats by were received.

On December 27th, a caller from a telephone booth reported to the police that a bomb was in St. Stephen's Cathedral. Police evacuated the building and sealed off the area. No explosive device was found. Two days later, on December 29th, police received another, similar threatening call about a bomb in the cathedral. Again, no device was found after an extensive search.

According to reports, it was unclear whether the calls were made by the same perpetrator and the police were investigating.
