Vandalism of Church in Italy Despite Quarantine

Country: Italy

Date of incident: March 20, 2020

The coronavirus quarantine did not prevent the vandalism of a church: during the night between March 20th and March 21st, the church of Santa Restituta in Sora was defaced with black and red spray paint.

"Despite the historical moment calling everyone to a greater sense of responsibility, someone inexplicably dared to deface a side entrance of the church of Santa Restituta. This church is one of the most representative beauties of the city, but it also has an immense emotional value for the Sorani. Besides being a place of worship, it is in fact the background of many moments of daily life," said Francesco Monorchio, the president of the Associazione Rinascita Spazio Identitario.
