Thieves Stole Ciborium and Hosts from the Church of Madeleine
Thieves broke into the Church of Madeleine in Vendôme and stole a wooden tabernacle containing a ciborium and consecrated hosts.
The stolen objects were not of great market value. "But the consecrated hosts are sometimes used during black magic rituals or parallel liturgies," said Father Pierre Cabarat, parish priest of Vendôme. The robbery was considered a desecration, and "a wound for the Christian community," Father Cabarat said.
