Left Wing Extremists Violently End Pro-Life Rally in Düsseldorf

Country: Germany

Date of incident: September 30, 2011

Left-wing extremists prevented a pro-life group from showing a short movie about the development of the human embryo on the square in front of Düsseldorf’s main railway station.

About 100 activists tore down the screen and cut off electricity, as the German non-governmental organisations ALfA reports. When police arrived, most of the attackers had fled already. Police however strongly advised ALfA not to restart the presentation because they feared the violent protesters to regroup and attack the event again in even larger numbers.
