Blasphemous Images in Weekly Magazine
"Humo", a Belgian Dutch-speaking weekly that is known for its liberal and satirical opinions, published a representation of a man urinating in a chalice with the accompanying text: "And Jesus changed wine into urine". Our sources report that this was not the first time "Humo" published blasphemous representations.
Read here the notice in Dutch: Op 13 november 2007 publiceerde HUMO op pag. 172 een ingekleurde tekening, die een onaanvaardbare ironisering inhoudt van de eucharistie: Christus op de tafel van het laatste avondmaal urineert in de kelk, terwijl de apostelen beaat en gelukzalig ernaar zitten te kijken. Het onderschrift is: “En Jezus veranderde wijn in urine”.
