Four young men attacked the church Saint-Pie-X in Vannes, insulting believers and claiming to denounce «fundamentalism». They underlined the «political» nature of their behavior and claimed to defend «anti-clerical values».

Christians praying in the perpetual adoration chapel of the church were able to notify the police while the vandals were still acting. The four young men (between 20 and 22 years old) were arrested at about 1:30 a.m. on April 4th. "While in custody, they said they were anti-clerical, against all forms of oppression or alienation and against any religious fundamentalism» reported the police officer Beurel. Father Christian Chérel, the parish priest, said that similar damage had been noticed on two other occasions over the last fortnight.
