At an LGBT+ pride march in Cremona, Italy, participants carried a half-naked mannequin dressed as the "Mother of God". The blasphemous display which took place during the LGBT+ Pride offended many Christians. Bishop of Cremona, Antonio Napolioni commented on the incident: "They do not fulfill any educational role, they do not communicate any values ​​or rights. Their presence is a gesture that serves no one, but it hurts many people."

The priest continued in a statement: “I would like to express my pain and the pain of the whole Christian community, as well as my desire that we should always learn from Our Lady (…) a look full of acceptance, understanding and reconciliation with others.

The Church in Cremona, engaged in an open synodal dialogue, with the diversity of voices and experiences of its communities and of civil society as a whole, will continue to engage in a proclamation and dialogue that these sad episodes cannot undermine.”
