St. Johann parish church robbed and desecrated

Unknown perpetrators broke into the parish church of St. Johann in Tirol, Austria, and stole and damaged religious objects. The figure of Christ was broken off a wooden cross.

The perpetrators broke off precious stones from the monstrance in the altar area and stole them. Further, the monstrance was opened and the "Lunula" a sickle-shaped holder for the host was stolen along with the consecrated host.

Finally, the figure of Christ was also stolen from a cross by being torn down and broken off from the cross, along ith an Easter candle being stolen. The damage did not stop there, however. The perpetrators also damaged, among other things, an angel and a side altar. The police are currently investigating the case. 

A 22 year old Greek man was identified as the perpetrator. 

UPDATE: The 22 year old man returned the items. He was temporarily arrested by the police since he has been released. He says his motive was boredom.
