Vandalism at the Dreieichenhain castle church
Unknown people damaged the church on the Dreieichenhain castle grounds. According to the police's initial assessment, the historic side door was forced open with brute force. At the same time, the perpetrators broke a window to the right of the main entrance. This is not the first time there has been vanalism to the church.
“Nothing was stolen in the locked church,” said Markus Buss, pastor of the Protestant castle parish. A cupboard that houses the technology was opened, as was the organ case on the upper floor. The exact damage cannot yet be quantified. Replacing the window and door will probably cost thousands of euros. In recent years there have been repeated incidents of vandalism at the church and on the area around the neighboring castle ruins. As early as June 2021, perpetrators broke church windows. And on the night of February 3rd to 4th, 2024, young people vandalized the local history association's ticket booth. They left behind, among other things, burn marks, rubbish and broken pieces. So far, the perpetrators have not been identified.
