Desecration of Mission Cross
In the Church of St. Maksymilian Maria Kolbe in Bogatynia, a Mission Cross was chopped down over night.
The parish priest, Fr. Krzysztof Hawro commented: "The desecration of the Cross at the parish church in Bogatynia did not only affect local parishioners."
"I think every profanity hurts. It's just painful, just plain painful. But we also pray for the perpetrator, whoever he is, for the transformation of the heart," he also said.
During the following Sunday mass was as penitential service for the desecrated missionary cross, that has stood in front of the church for 24 years.
