Disrespectful Fashion Show Promotion
The Lithuanian fashion label Robert Kalinkin promotes the fashion show of his new spring/summer collection 2013 on October 10th entitled “Jesus Mary” with disrespectful posters in Vilnius obviously transgressing the boundaries of good taste.
On one poster “Jesus” is represented by a young man with long bleach-blond hair, tattooed with crosses and Crowns of thorns, wearing only jeans. The bottom line says “Jesus, what a trousers!”. Another poster shows “Mary” equally tattooed, holding a rosary in her hands. It says “Dear Mary, what a dress!” The third display mocks the classical religious image of the Pietà. The caption reads, “Jesus, Mary, how they are dressed”. The publicity idea was generated by the Lithuanian Agency AD McCann Erickson and its Creative Director Jonas Valatkevičius.
