Public cross in Lias broken into pieces
In the morning of March 26, the historic public cross in the village Lias, France, was unseated from its pedestal and broken into 4 pieces.
The cross had adorned one of the main squares for generations. This act of vandalism has left its inhabitants both sad and angry. The reasons remain unknown.
Local Mayor Gerard Paul called the cross "more than a religious representation, it was the soul of our village since it has been enthroned for decades."
