Fire set to Mannheim Church

On 3 November, an unknown person set fire to objects inside the Twelve Apostles Church in Mannheim, spreading to the carpet and a wooden table. The fire was extinguished before it spread further into the church building.

The damage is estimated at more than 1,000 euros. A caretaker spotted the fire early and put it out, preventing it from spreading to the church building.

According to the police, the remains of the candle used by the perpetrator to set fire to some brochures and information leaflets were found at the scene. The church was open to the public at the time of the crime. Police are now appealing for witnesses.
