Church wall damaged by explosives

On Christmas Eve, 24 December, the church of Sant'Antonio Abate was the target of an act of vandalism. Unknown persons set off fireworks on the side of the sacred building, causing considerable damage. The explosion tore off part of the frame, and debris was found scattered on the ground.
The wall, already defaced by a vandalistic spray-painted inscription, has now been further damaged. The explosion blew off part of the frame and the debris was found scattered on the ground on Christmas morning.
The local news described the act as 'a tangible sign of a lack of respect that hits even harder on such a symbolic night as Christmas'.
