Second attack on Rennes Basilica within days

Following the destruction of a statue of the Virgin Mary a few days ago, unknown perpetrators have again vandalised the Saint-Aubin Basilica in Rennes. This time, a statue of the baby Jesus was found decapitated. The city of Rennes is facing a serious wave of hate crimes against Christians.
As reported by OIDAC, a few days ago the Catholic community of Rennes found a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes smashed to pieces. Now, in the same church, unknown vandals have beheaded a statue of the Infant Jesus.
Local politician Charles Compagnon has already reacted: "The series of degradations of the churches in Rennes continues. It is sad and worrying. I give all my support to the Christian community of Rennes which is the victim of this repeated vandalism. "
The diocese has decided to close the Basilica of Saint Aubin until further notice. In a spirit of remembrance and reparation, a prayer and service will be organised this Sunday. The police are investigating both attacks.
