Fire Set in Catholic Church

A Greek-Melkite parish was set on fire the night of Friday 12 December. Pastor could quickly contain and limit the damage.

The Greek-Melkite parish Saint John Chrysostom, located at Rue de l’Orient, 41, 1040 Brussels, was the target of a criminal attack on the night of Thursday 11th to Friday 12th of December 2008, as unknown perpetrators set fire to the church. Pastor Jalhoum Jihad, who lives in an apartment adjoined to the church, could quickly contain and limit the damage. The church was closed afterward due to the significant damage.
