MEP Posselt: “Europe Without Christianity Unthinkable!”

In an interview with the Online News Service Kath.net Bernd Posselt, EU Parliamentarian and Member of the executive board of the German Christian-Democratic party CSU said: “Europe must be a continent in which the Christian faith is being cultivated - not persecuted!”

Furthermore he claimed that an essential task of the EU is, among other things, to protect Christianity. Since Christians played a significant role in overcoming the Iron Curtain and the communist dictatorship, the terms Christianity, Freedom, and Europe form an inseparable unity. During the course of the interview, Posselt drew attention to the “uncompromising attitude” of the left liberal forces in the EU – especially coming from France and the Benelux-States – and suggest to them to adopt an open mind and honest discourse with Christians in Europe.
