Consecrated Host Theft in Seville School Chapel

Country: Spain

Date of incident: November 24, 2024

Unidentified intruders broke into a school chapel, desecrated the tabernacle, and stole a ciborium containing consecrated hosts.

On the weekend of November 23–24, 2024, unknown individuals entered the chapel of Colegio Adharaz-Altasierra in Seville, Spain, a Catholic school affiliated with the Opus Dei. They desecrated the tabernacle by causing material damage and stole a ciborium filled with consecrated hosts. The school confirmed the theft and reported material damage in the administration area, though no injuries occurred.

In response, the Attendis school network organised acts of Eucharistic reparation across its ten affiliated institutions. The local school community gathered to pray the Rosary and hold liturgical events in the following days. The school expressed gratitude for public support.
