Death Threat Graffitied on the Façade of a Chapel
A threatening message referencing the DZ Mafia was discovered on the façade of a historic chapel in Marseille. The words said “You are all going to die, DZ Mafia,” raising concerns about a broader pattern of anti-Christian hostility.
On December 10, 2024, residents of the 11th arrondissement of Marseille, France, discovered a death threat graffitied on the façade of the 12th-century Notre-Dame de Nazareth Chapel. The message, written in blue letters, read “You are all going to die, DZ Mafia.” Police opened an investigation for property damage but did not confirm whether the criminal organization DZ Mafia was involved. A source close to the case told Le Figaro, “If it’s them, they have no limits. But it is above all a place where young people meet in the evening,” suggesting the tag may reflect youth culture rather than direct gang activity. The incident was part of a broader pattern of anti-Christian acts reported across France.
