During the night of 31 October 2025, on Halloween, a church in Ouzouer-sous-Bellegarde, in the Loiret department of France, was subjected to acts of vandalism. The following morning, the entrance was found forced open, with interior woodwork damaged, pews overturned, and sections of tiling torn up. No individuals had been identified in connection with the offence at that time. The incident was reported to the authorities and remained under investigation.

The mayor described the event as “a completely unimaginable act” and “a lack of respect for our heritage,” noting that it must have been carried out with particular determination.
