In Stornara, Italy, obscene drawings were discovered on the side door of the Church of San Rocco, five years after its renovation. The parish community publicly denounced the act, stating it caused “unease and sadness” and emphasized the church as a shared symbol of welcome and spirituality.
Mayor Roberto Nigro condemned the vandalism, calling it a “disfigurement of a place of prayer”. "To express my closeness and solidarity with the parish community. I firmly condemn these vandalistic gestures that disfigure a place of prayer and spirituality," he said.
The incident was reported via social media and is being treated as vandalism.
