St Mary’s Church, a Grade II* listed building in Coleorton near Coalville, was the target of “mindless vandalism” between December 6 and 11. Vandals smashed two historic stained glass panels, causing significant damage to the church’s heritage. No money or valuables were taken, making it clear that the act was purely intended to vandalize the building. Reverend Canon Sue Field described the incident as “truly devastating,” highlighting both the emotional impact on the parish and the financial cost of repairs
