Vandalism at church in Witten during Christmas period
A Catholic church in Witten was vandalised during the Christmas period, with a window damaged and security equipment destroyed.
Between 20 and 27 December 2025, unknown individuals damaged a window of the St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Witten-Stockum, Germany, reportedly by throwing objects at it. In addition to the window damage, a motion detector was forcibly removed, indicating deliberate vandalism of the church property.
The incident took place during the Christmas period and remained unnoticed for several days despite ongoing services. Police have opened an investigation and are seeking witnesses.
