Buncton’s 11th‑Century Church Attacked
All Saints Church in Buncton, West Sussex, suffered extensive damage after almost all of its windows were smashed and fixtures vandalised between 13 and 18 January.
The incident affected the 11th‑century All Saints Church, a Grade I listed building near Steyning. Additional damage included broken door handles and lights. The church’s rector, Revd James di Castiglione, described the event as “strange and sad” and noted that repairs would cost several thousand pounds.
Sussex Police confirmed they were investigating the vandalism and appealed for information from the public. No arrests had been made at the time of reporting.
