Cuenca Church Vandalised After Restoration
Vandals targeted the recently restored Church of La Virgen de la Luz in Cuenca, Spain, defacing its walls with graffiti and damaging the historic site.
The incident took place on 30 December 2025, affecting one of the lateral walls of the church, which had recently undergone restoration work to preserve its historical and cultural value. Local authorities and political figures condemned the act, describing it as intolerable and emphasising the importance of protecting the city’s heritage.
At the time of the report, no suspects had been identified or apprehended in connection with the vandalism.
