Vandals Damage Forecourt of Romanian Orthodox San Sepolcro Church
Vandals have repeatedly caused damage to the forecourt and exterior of San Sepolcro Church on Via Campagna, where the Romanian Orthodox community has been worshipping since 2018. The incidents, reported in February 2026, have left visible damage to the church’s surroundings and structure.
According to parish priest Iuri Ursachi, plant containers on the forecourt have been smashed, a column has been cracked and paving stones have been lifted. In recent days, several bricks were also removed from the church’s outer walls and thrown. Each night the area is also left covered with broken bottles, rubbish and cigarette butts after groups gather there, prompting the priest to call on the municipality to install a surveillance camera and increase controls.
