In December 2025, an unknown individual called the contact number of a church in Ankara. During the conversation, the caller initially asked for information about Christianity. However, the call soon escalated, with the individual directing serious threats and abusive language at both the church and its official.

The church reported the matter to the Security Branch Directorate, which took no action, indicating that the official needed to file a complaint at a local police station. After doing so, the police showed little interest, merely taking a written statement.
