Several chapels in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska were vandalised with physical damage and satanic inscriptions discovered on multiple religious structures.

Several chapels along the devotional paths of the Passion-Marian Sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska were found vandalised, with visible damage and graffiti on multiple religious structures. According to the Polish Press Agency, the defacement included “satanic inscriptions”, among them the phrase “Ave Satana”, as well as drawn symbols including a pentagram.The damage has affected culturally and religiously significant monuments within the site.

Father Tarsycjusz Bukowski confirmed that the authorities are examining the incident. The Bernardine order, responsible for the sanctuary, strongly condemned the vandalism, stating: “We firmly oppose the devastation of religious sites, which are also unique monuments included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Every attack on this site is a blow to our common history and values.”
