Catholic Prayer Disrupted in Poissy Amid Shouting of Anti-Christian and Islamist Slogans

A Catholic prayer gathering at the Church of Saint-Louis de Beauregard in Poissy was disrupted by individuals shouting slogans, including “Allahu Akbar” and direct insults against Christians, prompting concern among the parishioners.

On the evening of 6 June 2026, during an office held at the Church of Saint-Louis de Beauregard in Poissy, at least two individuals disrupted the Catholic celebration by shouting “Allahu Akbar” and insulting remarks directed at Christians, including “F*** your mother, Christians”.

According to reports, the disturbance caused shock among the faithful gathered for prayer. No arrests were made in connection with the incident.

The affected parishioner expressed deep concern about what had occurred, stating: "I feel both sadness, disgust and genuine concern. I never imagined hearing such words spoken against faithful people gathered simply to pray. I call on the authorities and the city to take this situation seriously and to ensure that places of worship can benefit from the necessary protection." 

At the time of reporting, no official public statement had been issued by the municipality. Local residents called on authorities to take the incident seriously.
