Attempted Arson damages chapel in southern Germany

It was reported on 7 July 2026 that an unknown perpetrator deliberately set fire to seat cushions in a chapel in Wolfegg-Molpertshaus, Baden-Württemberg, causing approximately €1000 in damage. Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the rest of the church building, and the incident is being investigated as an attempted arson.

An incident of attempted arson was reported on 7 July 2026 at a chapel in Wolfegg-Molpertshaus, Baden-Württemberg. According to the police, an unknown individual intentionally set fire to several seat cushions and blankets inside the chapel. The flames did not spread to the rest of the church building, nonetheless the damage sustained amounts to approximately €1000. 

The offence is being investigated by police as an attempted arson and witnesses are currently being sought out for information. At the time of reporting, there was no information concerning the motive of the perpetrator.
