Attempted Intrusion and Arson at the Notre-Dame Church of Le Relecq-Kerhuon
On the night of 9 to 10 July 2026, the Notre-Dame Church in Relecq-Kerhuon was the target of a fire and attempted break-in throughout the night. The fire was extinguished before it could spread to the whole church building, but the incident nonetheless affected the Christian place of worship and is being investigated by the police.
During the night of 9 to 10 July 2026, an individual attempted a break-in at the Church of Notre-Dame in Le Relecq-Kerhuon and started a fire which burned the church doors before fleeing the scene. According to reports, the fire was discovered and extinguished before it could cause extensive damage to the church building.
The incident is being investigated as an attempted intrusion and suspected arson attack at a Christian place of worship. At the time of reporting no suspect has been identified.
