Under Investigation: Large fire destroys part of historic Leicester Anglican Church

According to reports, a coffin containing a body prepared for a funeral service the next day was rescued from the fire. There were no casualties, but parish assistants rushed to the parish to assist the fire crews at the church and to ensure that the blessed sacrament and other important items were saved from the flames.
In a statement, the Diocese of Leicester said it was "deeply saddened" by the fire. The cause of the flames was unknown at the time of reporting, and police have opened an investigation.
