Cross and vestments vandalised in Grein church
On 22 September, unknown perpetrators vandalised the Stadtpfarrkirche in Grein, scattering items from the confessional, prayer books, devotional images of saints and seat cushions throughout the church. The baptismal font was damaged, while a broken cross and two of the priest’s stoles were placed in the holy-water basin.
In Grein, on 22 September, unknown perpetrators entered the Stadtpfarrkirche of St. Ägidius, and scattered items from the confessional, prayer books, devotional images of saints and seat cushions on the floor. Further, the baptismal font in the right side aisle was torn off, a cross was broken, and two stoles belonging to the priest were submerged in the holy water fonts.
The incident, which seem to have targeted specifically religious objects, is now being investigated by police, who are appealing to witnesses for information.
