Offensive Graffiti Inside Church Forces Parish Church to Reduce Opening Hours
Offensive graffiti was found on pews and entrance steps of the parish church in Quinzano d’Oglio. Although volunteers promptly removed the offensive writing, the parish priest decided to close the church earlier each day to prevent further vandalism, reducing access outside morning services.
According to a report published on 28 October 2026, volunteers had discovered "obscene" graffiti at Quinzano d’Oglio’s parish church several days earlier. The women, who open and clean the church each morning, alerted parish priest Father Lorenzo Boldrini.
The writing affected pews and entrance steps. It was promptly removed, but Father Boldrini described the incident as deeply upsetting for the community.
When a place of worship is targeted, “which is everyone’s home and the symbol of a united community,” he said, the damage extends beyond religion to the town’s identity and values.
To prevent similar incidents, he announced that the church would close in the early afternoon after morning services, rather than remain open until the evening.
