Man Wields Knife in Berlin Cathedral

When a 53-year-old Austrian man became aggressive and started wielding a knife in the Berlin Cathedral, police were called to intervene. The staff of the cathedral, which is also a popular tourist spot, were able to lead all visitors to safety. About a hundred people were in the cathedral at the time.
After the cathedral was cleared, two police officers opened fire against the man in the area of the altar. Both the man and one police officer were wounded and brought to hospital.
The man appeared to have been "confused." The police warned against speculation and said that there was no indication of a terrorist motive in the incident.
